Congratulations to the winners of the competition of scientific works of Higher Education Students, Young Researchers and Doctoral Students held by the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences (LMA)

By the resolution of the Presidium of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences, on February 23, 2021, prizes and letters of commendation were awarded to students, doctoral students and young researchers.

The winners of the LMA 2020 competition of scientific works of students of higher education institutions were masters of science (MSc) who conducted research at the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry:

• Greta Striganavičiūtė for the research work “Investigations of the effect of the hormone abscisic acid and application possibilities in the process of micropropagation of the selected Populus trees” (supervisor dr. Jonas Žiauka).
• Gabija Vaitkevičiūtė for the research work “Identification and analysis of novel Sus1, Wx-B1 and Wx-D1 alleles in winter wheat TILLING populations” (scientific supervisor dr. Rita Armonienė).

In the competition of LMA 2020 of scientific works of young scientists and doctoral students the prize was awarded to the junior researcher of the Agrochemical Research Laboratory, dr. Donata Drapanauskaitė for her research work “Effect of different chemical composition and structure of liming materials on acid soil neutralizing” (scientific supervisor Dr. Romas Mažeika, scientific consultant Dr. Regina Repšienė)

A letter of commendation was awarded to the junior researcher of the Laboratory of Agrobiology dr. Kristina Bunevičienė for her research work “Quality of biofuel ash-based fertilizer products and their effect on soil and plants” (scientific supervisor Dr. Romas Mažeika).
