Meeting of NOBALwheat project participants

On 9 June, the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC) held the first physical meeting of the partners of the NOBALwheat project in Lithuania.

The event was organized in parallel with the international conference 'Traditional and Novel Tasks for Plant Breeding' dedicated to the 100th anniversary of plant breeding in Lithuania.

In the meeting, there were 21 project participants from the Estonian Crop Research Institute (ETKI), the University of Tartu (UT), the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Economics (AREI), the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) and LAMMC. The project leaders of all institutions discussed the results of the first year and the works of the second field experiments, shared good practices and challenges, also went to the spring wheat field experiments of the Institute of Agriculture, and learned about the plant phenotyping tools used by LAMMC. The project participants from the University of Tartu demonstrated a portable tool to measure plant stomatal conductivity and CO2 uptake.
