Developing internationality is a necessity for research and study institutions that strive for scientific progress and beneficial relationships. One way to promote internationality is to attract interns and doctoral students from foreign countries.
Marlo Jimenez, a first-year master’s student in agri-food engineering from the AgroSup Dijon, France, is conducting a scientific internship at the Chemical Research Laboratory of the Institute of Agriculture.
The internship lasts 20 weeks, from March 17 to August 1, and the topic is “The impact of environmentally friendly tillage on the sustainability of agroecosystems”.
In the Chemical Research Laboratory, the intern performs analyses of the chemical composition of rapeseed and catch crops and soil, and studies the effects of various tillage and sowing methods.
The analyses are carried out in collaboration with the Department of Soil and Crop Management, so the intern has the opportunity to become familiar with the field work and research conducted by this department works under the direction of Dr. Gražina Kadžienė. There is also an opportunity to learn about the activities of other divisions of the Institute of Agriculture.
Internship supervisor Dr. Jurgita Cesevičienė.
