Dr. Modupe Doyeni attended the ManuRESOURCE scientific conference

Dr. Modupe Doyeni, Senior Researcher at the Agrobiology Laboratory of the Institute of Agriculture, participated in the 7th International ManuREsource Conference held from 3 to 6 March in Ede, Wageningen, the Netherlands, and provided many professional and scientific benefits. Participation in the event improved understanding of innovative manure management methods, especially advanced treatment technologies such as nutrient recovery systems, ammonia emission reduction methods, and manure-to-energy conversion techniques.

Valuable insights were gained on the integration of manure into circular bioeconomy systems, including its use for the production of biofertilisers and renewable energy products.

Importantly, the event facilitated valuable collaborations with researchers, industry experts, and policymakers working on sustainable agriculture and waste valorisation. These interactions opened opportunities for joint research on manure-based bioinputs, soil health improvement, and climate-resilient farming systems. It was also useful to learn about EU-funded projects and interregional strategies that expanded knowledge and approaches to policy-based manure management solutions.

Overall, the conference strengthened the research direction and created pathways for future international collaboration and innovation in sustainable manure management.

The research visit was funded by the NextGenerationEU programme (No. 10-038-T-0302).
