On May 24–31, a joint International Symposium on Plant Pathogenic Sclerotiniaceae: ΧΙΧ International Botrytis Symposium, XVII International Sclerotinia Workshop, and II International Monilinia Workshop, was held in Thessaloniki, Greece, with the participation of Dr. Neringa Rasiukevičiūtė, Chief Researcher of the Laboratory of Plant Protection, Institute of Horticulture, in order to present research, improve competence, meet with colleagues and deepen knowledge.
At the symposium, oral and poster presentations were presented:
About 180 scientists from different countries of the world participated in the event. This was a great opportunity not only to present the research results, but also to hear targeted presentations on Botrytis, Sclerotinia and Monilinia pathogenic fungi, their genetics, plant host-pathogen interactions, virulence, plant disease control, biological and chemical plant protection, epidemiology, biotechnological aspects, diversity and CRISPR/CAS9 gene editing. Scientific competence was developed through participation in symposium plenary sessions and working groups.
