Today marks the official establishment of the Conference of Directors of Lithuanian Research Institutes (LIMIDA) – a new association bringing together the leaders of eleven state research institutes with a shared goal of strengthening Lithuania’s research community, fostering collaboration, sharing expertise, and representing the interests of research institutions more effectively.
Dr Gintaras Brazauskas, Director of the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC), has been elected as the first Chair of LIMIDA.
Science is strongest when ideas, knowledge, and people come together. The establishment of LIMIDA is therefore more than the launch of a new association—it is an important step towards a more united, resilient, and forward-looking Lithuanian research community, better prepared to address future scientific and societal challenges.
We congratulate LIMIDA on its establishment and wish the association every success in contributing to a stronger future for Lithuanian science.
