Funding of the RCL for the commercialisation of LAMMC projects

As many as 6 LAMMC projects have secured funding from the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL) for project commercialisation.

Each project is allocated 150,000 euros for further development, prototype development, and start-up activities.

By signing license agreements with established spin-off companies, LAMMC transfers technologies developed in its laboratories for commercial development.

We are very pleased that the value created in the projects is noticed and appreciated by the public.

Briefly about the products created at the LAMMC:

  • Green biocomposite substrate (head Dr. Aistė Balčiūnaitienė). An innovative, science-based biosubstrate designed to provide plants with a targeted package of nutrients, microorganisms, and functional compounds in one medium. The aim is to replace traditional substrates with a more effective solution that accelerates growth and reduces resource waste.
  • Microorganism kit – a starter for the food production sector (leader Dr. Viktorija Puzerytė). An innovative, biotechnologically developed symbiotic microorganism product for the food and food supplement production sectors.
  • Nanoparticle fertilisers for leguminous plants (leader Dr. Rūta Sutulienė). Highly precise, nanoparticle-based fertilisers that effectively reach the plant cell and ensure maximum absorption.
  • Sustainable compostable packaging materials from mycelium and biomass (leader Dr. Simas Borkertas). Development of sustainable, biodegradable mycelium-based packaging. This is a nature-inspired solution to replace plastic with real, functional products.
  • Advanced dry food rations (leader Edvinas Genys). Three science-based dry food ration recipes meet the needs of future consumers and NATO standards: health, sustainability, and new experiences.
  • Functional food supplement (leader Dr. Šarūnas Paškevičius). The project involves cultivating functional mushrooms in bioreactors to develop high-added-value functional food solutions.
