LAMMC Participated in the International UPSCALE Project Partners’ Meeting in Helsinki

On 9–10 June 2026, the third partners’ meeting of the NordForsk-funded international project UPSCALE – Upscaling Crop Performance Monitoring by Linking Satellite Data and Field Biomarkers took place at the National Plant Phenotyping Infrastructure (NaPPI), University of Helsinki, Finland. LAMMC was represented by Dr Rita Armonienė, Chief Researcher and Head of the Laboratory of Genetics and Physiology.

The meeting brought together project partners from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Lund University (LU), University of Helsinki (UH), the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO), UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, and the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC).

During the meeting, the partners presented the results of field and laboratory experiments conducted over the past three years of the project. They reviewed data collection and analysis from the previous growing season, discussed improvements to crop performance assessment methods and their application under different climatic conditions, and planned the next stages of the project, including upcoming experiments, data analysis, and the preparation of scientific publications.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen international scientific collaboration and exchange knowledge among researchers from the Nordic and Baltic countries.

The UPSCALE project aims to develop advanced crop monitoring approaches by integrating satellite data with field-based biomarkers, contributing to more sustainable and efficient agriculture across the Nordic-Baltic region.
