On July 1–2, 2025, Rita Asakavičiūtė, a laboratory assistant from the Vokė Branch of the Institute of Agriculture at LAMMC, visited Alnarp, Sweden, together with representatives from gene banks and related institutions from Ukraine and the Baltic States. The visit included a two-day intensive knowledge exchange with NordGen experts, focusing on underutilized crops.
The FUnCrop project group visited the NordGen seed laboratory and field trial sites where buckwheat, grey peas, lentils, and mustard are currently being tested. The project also includes the characterization of flax, common beans, vetches, faba beans, and lupins – all crops with significant potential for wider cultivation to promote nutritious local food production across the region.
The visit was funded by the FUnCrop project.
