On November 19–20, the final conference of the Baltic Research Programme (BRP) “The Baltic Research Programme – a unique success story of regional collaborative research” was held in Vilnius, organised by the Research Council of Lithuania, the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Republic of Lithuania, and the grants of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The panel discussion of the conference “Challenges and excitement of collaboration. Bringing values of science to country and society” was attended by LAMMC director Dr Gintaras Brazauskas.
During the event, an exposition of the BRP projects “BRP DISCOVERY: brief stories and experiences of the projects” was presented.
Dr Gintaras Brazauskas, chief researcher of the Laboratory of Genetics and Physiology, and Dr Andrius Aleliūnas, senior researcher of the Laboratory of Genetics and Physiology of the Institute of Agriculture, presented the results of the project “NOBALwheat – breeding toolbox for sustainable food system of the NOrdic BALtic region”, and Dr Kristina Jaškūnė, chief researcher of the laboratory, represented the project “Improving adaptability and resilience of perennial ryegrass for safe and sustainable food systems through CRISPR-Cas9 technology” (Editgarss4Food).
Dr Jelena Ankuda, researcher of the Vokė Branch of the Institute of Agriculture, presented the project “Sustainable use of soil resources in the chaning climate” (SUCC).
