LAMMC welcomed guests from the University of Florence

We are pleased to announce the successful visit of members from the University of Florence to the Laboratory of Microbiology, Institute of Agriculture, LAMMC, which took place from November 29 to December 1. Among our visitors were Prof. Carlo Viti, Dr Francesca Decorosi, and Prof. Arianna Buccioni. During the visit, the guests participated in a series of seminars and had the opportunity to get acquainted with various departments of the Institute of Agriculture. This visit was not only an opportunity to showcase our research activities, but also a moment to encourage international collaboration and knowledge exchange.

One of the seminar highlights was “Research insights on beneficial soil microorganisms and bioactive compounds in by-products”. Here, our Deputy Director Dr Antanas Ronis took the initiative to introduce and present various activities of the Institute of Agriculture, LAMMC.

Prof. Carlo Viti delivered a presentation on the ALL-IN project “Improve Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) symbiosis, inoculant selection, and field experiment results”. Prof. Arianna Buccioni’s presentation “ALL-IN, by-products: a resource for the sustainability in ruminant productions,” highlighted the innovative use of by-products in increasing the sustainability of ruminant production.

This visit has been instrumental in strengthening the ties between the Institute of Agriculture, LAMMC, and the University of Florence. It opens up new opportunities for collaborative research and shared learning, which we believe will lead to significant advances in the field of agricultural microbiology and sustainability,ž.
