Vytautas Bunevičius, a PhD student at the Laboratory of Plant Protection of the Institute of Horticulture, LAMMC, was on an internship at the Institute of Horticulture ("Dārzkopības institūts") in Dobele, Latvia, from March 16 to 27. The internship was supervised by Dr. Edgars Rubauskis, a leading researcher at the Unit of Agronomy Research and Variety Testing of the Institute of Horticulture.
During the internship, the doctoral student participated in scientific activities related to the issues of apple tree transplant diseases and soil microbiota. He also learned about the peculiarities of pruning fruit trees of various ages, crown formation, and methods for determining the degree of apple ripening. An opportunity was created for meaningful cooperation and learning from experienced colleagues.
