Research presentation at the international food science conference EFFoST

On 17–19 November, the 39th international EFFoST conference titled ‘Fostering the Transition to Sustainable Food Systems: Embracing Novelty and Overcoming Challenges’ was held in Porto, Portugal. We are delighted that LAMMC PhD student Syeda Hijab Zehra during the event presented a poster presentation “Microwave-assisted synthesis of antimicrobial silver nanoparticles using propolis extracts”.

Sharing her impressions, the PhD student said that it was a great opportunity to share the results of her PhD research, but also a space to meet food engineering, materials science and sustainability experts, whose valuable insights and suggestions can help to expand and develop the PhD research.

Syeda Hijab Zehra said that participating in the conference expanded her knowledge of global developments in food processing technologies, circular economy practices and innovative methods for the use of by-products. The connections established with researchers from various countries could lead to cooperation opportunities in the areas of natural pigment extraction, ecological processing technologies, and biocomposite production.

We congratulate the doctoral student on this achievement and are delighted that LAMMC was presented to the international community.
