The Research Council of Lithuania awarded support to two LAMMC doctoral students

Valentinas Černiauskas, a PhD student at the Department of Silviculture and Ecology, Institute of Forestry, and Mudassar Hussain, a PhD student at the Laboratory of Biochemistry and Technology, Institute of Horticulture, Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry (LAMMC), have been awarded the 2026 Support for Doctoral Students for Academic Achievements by the Lithuanian Research Council (LMT): https://lmt.lrv.lt/public/canonical/1773724326/7637/DAP%20laimetojai%202026%20svetainei%20LMT%20(03.13).pdf

This competitive support programme recognises doctoral students for outstanding study results and research performance, aiming to encourage high-quality research and support the development of early-career scientists in Lithuania.

Mudassar Hussain is conducting his doctoral research under the supervision of Dr. Jonas Viškelis, with scientific consultation from Dr. Viktorija Puzerytė. His PhD dissertation focuses on “Valorisation of hemp using enzymatic hydrolysis”, exploring innovative approaches to convert hemp biomass into valuable bioactive compounds and functional ingredients with potential applications in sustainable food and bio-based industries.

This recognition highlights both the academic achievements of the doctoral students and the supportive scientific environment at LAMMC.
