Last week Dr. Dorotėja Vaitiekūnaitė and Dr. Marius Praspaliauskas (LEI) travelled to Skellefteå, Sweden for the XTRACT General Assembly (March 10–13, 2026). Progress on various project tasks was presented including LAMMC team's work on tree-based phytoremediation and phytomining of Cd, As, and Pb.
A highlight of the trip was visiting the Björkdal Mine – one of Europe’s largest gold mines and an important project partner, where XTRACT technologies are being tested at scale.
