1972–1977 Diploma of scientific agronomist, Faculty of Agronomy, Lithuanian University of Agriculture (since 2019 Vytautas Magnus University Agriculture Academy). 

1970 Specialist of Agronomy, Vilnius Agrozootechnicity. 

Academic degrees and pedagogical titles

2012 Full member of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences.

2000 Scientific pedagogical title of professor in Lithuanian University of Agriculture (since 2019 VMU Agriculture Academy).

1996 Habilitated doctor degree in Agriculture (Agronomy), dissertation “The induction of flowering of selected (grass and white clover) fodder plants”, Olsztyn Agricultural and Technical Academy (now the University of Warmia and Mazuria, Poland).

1984 Doctor of Biomedical Sciences, Biology, dissertation “Natural and artificial conditions for the development of perennial ryegrass biology and organogenesis”, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia.

• 2010–2011 Researcher Teams’ project NUTRILED, Research Council of Lithuania. Project manager.
• 2010–2011 Research Council of Lithuania, National Research Programme “Ecosystems in Lithuania: Climate Change and Human Impact” project KLIMSEGVA. Project manager.
• 2007–2009 High Technology project PHYTOLED, Research Council of Lithuania. Member of the project council responsible for photophysiological research.

Supervision of PhD projects

• The supervisor of 13 dissertation and a member of 2 defence committees: in Agronomy (Vytautas Magnus University and Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry) and Ecology (Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry). As chairman, member or opponent of the defence council, participated in the defence of 89 doctoral dissertations.
