LAMMC conducts breeding programmes for the major field crops, vegetables, pomefruits, stonefruits and berries.
A total of 140 varieties of agricultural plants bred at LAMMC are currently included in the Lithuanian National List of Plant Varieties and the EU Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species.
A total of 13 new varieties of agricultural and horticultural plants were included in the Lithuanian National List of Plant Varieties 2023:
- Spring Wheat ‘Merkys DS’, ‘Venta DS’, Oat ‘Svaja’, Tall Fescue ‘Monas’, Narrow Leaved Lupin ‘VB Pilkiai’,
- Beetroot ‘Giliai’, White Cabbage ‘Bagočiai’, Sweet Cherry ‘Pagunda’, ‘Sava’, ‘Truopna’, Sour cherry ‘Agera’, ‘Coliukė’, ‘Ruoda’.
