The 37th ICP Vegetation Task Force Meeting

The 37th ICP Vegetation Task Force Meeting was held held in Kaunas, Lithuania, at “Victoria hotel” (Miško St. 11, Kaunas, Lithuania) organised by the Institute of Forestry, the Lithuanian Research Centre for Agriculture and Forestry and UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH). The topics discussed at the meeting includes the impacts of ozone, heavy metals on crops, forests, moss etc.; nitrogen and NOx impacts on terrestrial ecosystems; biomonitoring of metals, N, persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and microplastics; outreach activities in Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA), Asia and other regions (e.g., Africa, South-America); collaboration with other subsidiary bodies of the Convention, including other ICPs and EMEP Centres/Task Forces. There was also a discussion about the decisions made by politicians to reduce ozone exposure and pollution at European and worldwide level, and the cooperation between politicians and scientists.
